Job Description

Required Skills

• Knowledge of insurance domain / business, Insurance business work flows.
• Strong Knowledge of All Lines of Business (LOB) in P&C Insurance.
• Knowledge of AAIS and ISO as an Added Advantage.
• Underwriting policies (property and casualty and other lines of insurance).
• Quote processing, Identifying Risk items, Risk assessment/estimation, Coverages and risk protection.
• Policy Rating/Premium Calculations, Underwriting rules, Billing, Policy issuance/Renewals/Endorsements, Loss handling, Claims processing and Settlement.
• Job involves developing Rating system for policy admin application. This demands very good comprehension, analytical skills, usage of excel worksheets, preparation of rating algorithm / steps (premium calculation for policy) and setting them up on a product configurator application.

Job Competency

• Should be sharp, have basic understanding of programming (not programming experience) and able to develop rating steps (involving formulas, expressions, arithmetic calculations).

Job Roles & Responsibilities

• It is a product/system implementation support role.
• Involve in developing new system (insurance application) from an existing system.
• Attend customer meetings along with system implementation team members.
• Refer existing system manuals/guides for business rules and rate details.
• Extract business rules of existing system from manuals/guides/notes etc.
• Extract rating steps, rates etc of existing system from manuals/guides/notes etc.
• Consolidate business rules, Rate Steps, Rate details.
• Set up extracted business rules in new system using Configurator Application (Hosts entire configuration of system).
• Set up extracted rate details in new system using Configurator Application.
• Set up any other data required for building new system using Configurator Application.
• Interact with system implementation team(System developers, Quality Assurance Team members), coordinate with them and implement new system.
• Test functionality of new system.
• Deliver new system to customer.

Basic with good expertise

• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and tools.
• Strong knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
• Must have experience in preparing Test Plan, Test Strategy, and Test Cases covering Functional and UI scenarios.
• Strong knowledge and experience of Functional/UI (Desktop and Mobile/MEW), Regression, Sanity, Smoke testing.
• Should have experience in definition, implementation, and execution of the functional, regression test cases on highly iterative and collaborative projects.
• Execute and analyze manual and automated tests to identify defects, track quality metrics and ensure the quality of software applications.
• Strong knowledge of any Databases with capabilities to write SQL Queries.

Automation Testing

• Must have experience with Selenium, WebDriver, GIT & Core Java.
• Good knowledge of database interfaces like Oracle SQL (RDBMS) and DB2.
• Automate features/functionalities in the application with UI automation tools/frameworks.
• Automate web applications using Selenium, Java/Ruby, and Cucumber Framework.
• Automate Rest/SOAP services, Excel based client applications.
• Good knowledge and experience with Test Automation frameworks like - TestNG, JUnit, POM, Cucumber, SDET and Open-Source Frameworks.
• Good knowledge and experience in Web Services and API testing using Rest Assured framework.
• Good Knowledge of CI/CD tool - Jenkins and Maven build tool.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and executing high quality test cases.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure that test cases are aligned with development goals and timelines.
• Drive improvements in testing coverage, develop test suites, and automate end to end tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper testing coverage and effective communication of test results.
• Coordinating with other teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software products.
• Participating in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and sprint retrospectives.
• Leading a team of testers and be responsible for the quality of their work.
• Give direction and leadership to other testers and define strategies to ensure effective and efficient testing.
